What: IMPRS-IS S4 Workshop - Intercultural Communication and Working in Diverse Groups Date: Thursday, September 23, 2021 Time: 9:00 - 4:00 p.m. CET Location: On-site MPI-IS Tübingen Trainer: Maike Trost Maike Trost works as an International Office represenative at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems. She is also a certified workshop trainer on topics such as intercultural communication and cultural competence, earning this certification from Freie University in Berlin. The International Max Planck Research School for Intelligent Systems (IMPRS-IS) is a highly intercultural and diverse working place, and we are absolutely proud of it! But what is actually happening when two people from totally different cultures are communicating with each other? … And why does it happen to be so irritating sometimes? In order to avoid irritation or misunderstandings we have to understand how intercultural communication works. You want to increase your ability to recognize and to respond to cultural differences? Then you should definitely join this workshop!
IMPRS-IS is excited to offer this event on-site! The event will follow all MPI-IS safety protocol adhering to COVID-19 safety guidelines. All participants will be asked to provide a COVID-19 vaccination certificate or negative COVID-19 test result upon arrival at the workshop.
As this is an on-site event, participants will be provided with complimentary refreshments during morning and afternoon workshop breaks. Participants are responsible for their own lunch. However, all participants will have access to the Max Planck House mensa. Sara Sorce can help facliate this process for participants who do not have a Tübingen mensa card.
