To become an associated postdoc with IMPRS-IS, you must be working as a postdoctoral researcher in the group of one of our IMPRS-IS faculty members or associated faculty members. You can then be officially nominated by your supervisor for association with the program.
If you are a postdoc interested in joining, we encourage you to speak with your supervisor and ask them to submit a nomination on your behalf. The nomination should include:
These documents should be sent as email attachments in PDF format to the IMPRS-IS coordination office (imprs@is.mpg.de) by the nominating supervisor.
The coordination office collects all nominations, notifies the spokesperson or deputy spokesperson responsible for the nominee’s institution, and includes the nomination for consideration during the program’s next board meeting. The board’s decision on each nomination will be communicated by email to the postdoc and their supervisor.
Benefits of Becoming an Associated Postdoc
Requirements for Associated Postdocs
Associated postdocs are expected to actively contribute to the IMPRS-IS community. Specifically, each associated postdoc is required to lead at least one activity per year for IMPRS-IS, such as a workshop or a boot camp tutorial. This annual obligation for associated postdocs will be considered on a 12-month basis from the date they are notified of the board’s approval.
