2025 Boot Camp

We're expecting around 300 community members to join us for this immersive learning experience filled with scientific talks, paper discussions, tutorials, a lively debate, social activities, and more!

Important Information Before the Boot Camp Begins

Travel Requests

Because the IMPRS-IS coordination office is based at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (MPI-IS), we are only able to submit travel requests for participants whose primary work contract is with MPI-IS.

  • MPI-IS employees: You do not need to submit a travel request yourself.

  • University employees: You must follow the travel request procedures of your home institution.

Please note: Each participant is personally responsible for securing any necessary travel approvals for attending the Boot Camp during work hours. Since procedures differ across institutions, IMPRS-IS cannot manage this process for you. If you are unsure how to proceed, please reach out to your group’s administrative support for guidance.

Health

Protecting the health of our attendees is of the utmost importance to us as we prepare for this large event. If you are too sick to come, please contact the coordination office (imprs@is.mpg.de) ASAP. We will ask that show proof from a physician (Krankenschein) if you are not able to attend the Boot Camp due to illness.

Transportation

Shuttle buses will depart starting at 8:30 a.m. CEST. Please be punctual—buses will not wait for latecomers. Details on departure times and locations can be found in the relevant section of the schedule.

Arrival & Registration

When you arrive at the venue, please check in at the IMPRS-IS reception desk. You will receive your name tag there, and we ask that you wear it throughout all Boot Camp activities.

Participant Contributions

All poster presenters and helpers have already been contacted. Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in contributing—we greatly appreciate your willingness to volunteer.

Image Policy

Photographs will be taken during the Boot Camp. If you do not wish to be photographed, please pick up a red sticker at reception and place it clearly on your name tag for the duration of the event. Kindly inform the reception team so your preference can be documented. Please note that IMPRS-IS and MPI-IS reserve the right to use event images for promotional purposes, including on our website, in printed materials, or on other platforms to highlight the program.
