Learn how to recognize and overcome decision paralysis, sharpen your judgment under uncertainty, and move forward confidently in complex research environments.
Date: Wednesday, June 10 Time: 13:30 - 16:30 Location: MPI-IS Stuttgart Trainer: Dr. Richard Segar
With a focus on Germany and Europe, this 3-hour interactive workshop will introduce key funding schemes such as DFG programs, EU funding instruments, and ERC grants, and discuss how these opportunities align with different career stages.
The workshop is designed to help participants understand what funding options exist, rather than focusing on grant writing mechanics.
Particular attention will be given to how doctoral researchers can prepare during the PhD phase for competitive funding as postdocs or early independent researchers.
The workshop will include substantial time for discussion of individual situations, open Q&A, and practical considerations such as eligibility criteria, timelines, mobility requirements, and typical expectations of different funders.
The session will be led by our MPI- IS EU Liaison Officer, Dr. Richard Segar.
Transportation to and from Tübingen will be offered if interest is high enough.
